The Better Behavior Wheel

The Better Behavior Wheel The Better Behavior Wheel is a breakthrough discovery in child behavior management that’s guaranteed to give you well-behaved kids in less than a week.
When David and Laura were 9 and 12, their constant arguing and bickering was driving parents Julie and Bob Butler crazy. In desperation they held a conference, then sent the kids to their rooms to come up with a list of consequences that could be imposed the next time they had a fight. The following day, list of consequences in hand, the parents decided to put them around the perimeter of a board and then attached a spinner in the center. It was dubbed ‘The Better Behavior Wheel’ and hung up on the kitchen wall.

“The amazing thing”, says Julie Butler, “The fighting stopped overnight. The mere presence of that board hanging on the wall put a damper on their battles.”

When truce was finally broken about ten days later, the kids were calmly led into the kitchen and handed the wheel to spin. It landed on perhaps the most dreaded consequence of all: “Hug and Make Up”.

The tension was broken as they awkwardly gave each other a hug, mumbling apologies. They all had a good laugh, and life resumed.

While the wheel has been created to deal with common situations that occur within the home, teachers are also using it in the classroom, with many of them having the students come up with appropriate consequences as a classroom assignment. The Child Services Council of West Palm Beach recently purchased 1,000 wheels for their Parenting Matters program.

You’ll find that conflict resolution and child behavior management becomes much easier to deal with. Families who use the Wheel report dramatic changes in their households.
The Better Behavior Wheel comes on a board, faced with bright graphics. It’s 7″x10″ in size and comes with a leather lace for hanging on the wall.

It comes with the following themes or mis-behaviors, but you may want to create your own:Consequences

  • Excessive Arguing
  • Leaving the lights on
  • Not putting things away
  • A job poorly done
  • S-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g the truth
  • Taking without asking
  • Talking back
  • Wheel of Just Desserts

Consequences are placed around the perimeter and the disk is placed on the board. A spinner is snapped into place and you’re ready to spin.

Rewards are printed on peel and stick paper with colorful eye-catching graphics. This enables you to customize the Wheel to meet your family’s needs. Just cut them out and stick them on.

Priced at $16.95, the Better Behavior Wheel is an affordable tool for parents and educators everywhere. It can be viewed online here:
