Have you ever thought about getting cosmetic surgery before? It seems like everyone has at some time, even in private. It definitely can be a big step, as popular procedures like breast augmentation and nose reshaping require a lot of care and can take weeks to heal, but doctors are hard at work to make other popular procedures like liposuction safer, quicker, and more accessible every year.

The important thing about making the decision for plastic surgery is to do your research. Know what you’re getting into before going under the knife – your expectations, physical and psychological risks, and total time and costs should all come into play in your exploration. You can even decide to see a psychologist. He will prepare you to accept the changes, make you aware of an eventual dissatisfaction, or choose to accept your infirmity, instead.

Equally, if not more, important is finding a well-qualified board certified plastic surgeon. Make sure he or she is experienced in the type of surgery you want, and that the two of you have similar goals and expectations toward the outcome of your procedure. Your surgeon is well-trained to guide you and explain your best choice, physical and psychological risks also, form all his patients experience.
With all of your bases covered, you can make sure that your choice for plastic surgery will be a confident step toward a new you.

Let me know what’s your opinion on this topic. Would you have plastic surgery if money and recovery time were not factors?

I have never been able to make up my mind whether i want a surgery or not. I think it’s everyone’s personal choice.

I always wondered about a nose job, since I think mine is a bit big, but I have seen possible complications:( My friend had a breast augmentation and it made her much more confident.

I would definitly have eyelid surgery, if I could. As I have gotten older, my lids have started to “hood” to the point where it is interfering with my vision! I am not a candidate because I have developed a unique blood disorder and cannot have any type of surgery unless it is an emergency in a life-threatening situation. It’s not heophilia, but is similar to that disease. As there is no cure, I have to be very careful to avoid any cuts. Anyway, as I have been a lover of reading all my life, I would certainly have my eyes “done”.

Its definitely a personal choice and really should not be made because of glamour magazines or the media trying to believe that it will change your life. Cosmetic surgery is just to enhance or slightly improve your feautures, it will not make someone become more liked or more adored, it really is important especially in younger generations that this understood.

As we meet and provide cosmetic surgery to thousands of people each year, we see a dangerous trend which is coming, whilst accepting the benefits of surgery and age reversal is good, so many young 20 something girls and men are now thinking surgery will change their lives and make them popstars. please please dont fall for the hype.

Use surgery when you need to, not because you feel its the done thing and following the herds and media.
