Blackwell’s list has become a Hollywood tradition over the decades, poking fun at icons ranging from Queen Elizabeth to Elizabeth Taylor. Blackwell was one of the top Los Angeles designers of the 1960s, creating fashions for the likes of Jayne Mansfield, Peggy Lee and Nancy Reagan.No longer an active designer but still an acid-tongued critic of celebrity fashion, aimed his poison pen at Hollywood, with young entertainers dominating the list.
Britney Spears and Paris Hilton tied for No. 1 on Mr. Blackwell’s 47th annual “Worst Dressed Women List,” the retired designer revealed Tuesday. Calling them “two peas in an over-exposed pod” and “style-free and fashion deprived,” Blackwell dubbed Spears and Hilton the “Screamgirls.” Here are his picks for the worst of the bunch:

- Mariah Carey

Blackwell’s come up with a new nickname for Mariah Carey, who’s in fifth place. He called her “Mariah the Fashion Pariah” and the “Queen of Catastrophic Kitsch.” He said actress Sharon Stone resembles “an over-the-hill Cruella DeVille,” and Tori Spelling embodies “down and out in Beverly Hills.”
Escaping Blackwell’s barbs are his “fabulous fashion independents” - actresses Kate Winslet, Angelina Jolie and Helen Mirren, singers Barbra Streisand and Beyonce Knowles. That’s some range in this list, huh?

I don’t question his professional opinion and I got to agree with the no.1, but I really think he picked few ‘victims’ just because they are most talked about females of the past year and some accidental outfits… What’s with this guy, calling Lindsay Lohan a “schizophrenic frenzy” (When it comes to fashion) in 2004 ?? And by the way she was no.2 on the list back then…

Paris Hilton and Britney deserved to tie, but I admit that I think Lindsay has great style and I’d love to have her wardrobe.
