My skin care starts with face wash. What’s more important than having a clean pores and soft facial skin before going to bed?
I used tones of cleansers and I admit I couldn’t live without a good cleanser. I prefer cleansers to any makeup remover lotions, pads and towelettes (I try them though for my reviews), because I love to wash my face with cold, frozen water (sometimes ice cubes) and get rid of my makeup in the same time. This way I enjoy a facial massage and feel refreshed instead of smudging makeup on my face. I hate that that horrible greasy feeling left on your skin that throws the whole product off. I hate having a little dark smudge of leftover eye makeup along my lower lashes when I’m going to bed, and that never happens with facial cleansers if you know how to use it. Here’s how I do it:

First I wash my hands and I wet my face, then I squeeze two or three drops on my palm. I add a small amount of water and work it into a rich lather, then apply it to my face. Massage deeply onto my face, then very gently my eyes and eyelashes. If you love cleansing as much as I do, enjoy cold water rinsing from your ears to the eye area, then rinse gently your eyes. Now don’t forget your neck! If you don’t insist to rinse off the cleanser on the neck, jaw line and your chin, you risk seeing dry spots on your skin, when you wake up in the morning. I guess my skin type (dry) is more exposed to that risk, but it’s very important to rinse off completely every time! Make cleansing your pleasure time!If your cleanser removes too much of your natural moisture use a night cream or a moisturising mask.

Another greatness of facial cleansers is that most of them provides targeted astringent action to help reduce pores take away red spots with tiny red small broken blood vessels (veins radiating outward like a spider’s legs) on or around the cheeks and nose.
Olay Hydrate & Cleanse Antioxidant Lathering Face Wash

Besides Elemis sensitive cleanser (that I’m very found of), I’ve been enjoying Olay Hydrate & Cleanse Antioxidant Lathering Face Wash (6 fl oz), lately. I recommend it as a New Olay cleanser that thoroughly removes my makeup. Secondly, the acids get right to work on clogged pores, while vitamin E and nourishing hydrators, go beyond cleansing to refortify your skin’s moisture… Should I ask for more? :)

TIP: You don’t have a good cleanser and it’s beddie time? Never use soap! Use a spoon of mayo and you’ll love the result!
Any comments? What’s your facial cleanser? I would love to hear from you!

Hi, I’ve been using L’occitaineDr. Ci La Bo’s Basic Black cleanser, and now I’m using Decleor cleansing gel. I have dry sensitive skin. My problem is, my pores are large and it’s often hard to get rid of black heads even after I cleanse, exfoliate and mask. Perhaps It’s becaue I’ve been so over-zealous with my skin-care regimen that my skin’s natural balance has been thrown off. O, and I’ve also got little baby bumps all over my cheeks. …
    What to do?

Blackheads are a problem for me also. Regular use of the clear pore strips don’t always do a good job, so I’ve been getting my blacheads removed whenever I go to get facials. The blackheads are literally squeezed out. A painful ordeal but worth it. As far as cleansers are concerned, I like using a gentle exfoliating cleanser from Philosophy. I think my skin has really benefited from it. At night I use M.A.C.’s Green Gel Cleanser which I think does a good job of taking off my makeup.

I think I’m going to try that Olay because the facewash I have now I think is too harsh!

I tried this mayo idea on my face over the weekend, honestly I didn’t see the results but the process was fun!

  12. KittiChai Says:

I once used it for a hair mask and it didn’t nothing but smell disgusting ^^

  13. rory Says:

I’ve never tried it on my hair, but was tempted to. I won’t try it though, as I’ve read about Kitti’s experience.

  14. KittiChai Says:

haha… I have done so much DIY treatments to my hair!
I think most of it doesn’t work for me because I need very light care

  15. rory Says:

I need heavy care to moisturize and get rid of the frizz.

  16. KittiChai Says:

just wrote you something about the C/O!

  17. rory Says:

What facial washes do you guys reccomend?

  18. KittiChai Says:

Something everyone should try out is oil cleansing:
you take a good & natural oil and massage it into your face, wait a few minutes and then take a warm and clean towel, press it on your face to open the pores and last step take away the oil with it!
