My beauty colleagues started their interesting blogging on Valentine’s Day Gift Guides, Makeup Looks Proposals and Outfits Suggestions for quite a while …
Now, at just two days before Valentine’s Day, I am sitting on my couch listening one of my favorite Whitney Houston’s songs: “I’m every woman” (may God fill her soul with love and peace as she did for us with her great voice) thinking of what I should do, not do, wear, give and would like to get on V- Day … It’s not like I’m going to start planning a last-minute trip or a theme party , but what I find to be perfect V plans! Maybe I should clarify with you what Valentine’s day means to me before sharing my other suggestions…
This celebration (imported in my country from American culture) isn’t more love birthday or lover’s day than any other day to me (even though I have to admit that V day celebrations gathers the most powerful Love Memories I have), but a simple excuse to take a pause time and spend some quality two hours or so in my dearest (couple or not couple) friends and discuss love feelings a little bit more than usual one day/year. It’s true you’ll have to bring all your auto-irony or joke shields with you if you are single to participate, but my biggest V-pleasure is to make it a funny celebration.
As for gifts all I have to say I absolutely hate cliches, gifts that don’t last more than few days, doesn’t serve to bring back my memories, including: sweets (unless I receive it in a romantic place ), flowers (unless they are drown on paper, web-designed, photographed or in a flower pot! Nothing will die soon or be eaten makes me feel the looooove!
Let’s get to the V-outfit selection: It’s really not that simple to choose. It depends on the location (most of all if is a party), on your style, body features, even on your partner’s tastes cuz is a day you might consider look good especially for him. But my advice is to choose a comfy dress, red is an option but love can be pink or any color you love! Wear what is considered to be romantic accessories and your hair loose or wavy, controlled negligible perfect manicure and the biggest smile you have on your power!
V-makeup should be a day makeup, evening or special occasion depending on the place your celebration takes place and would not be bad to consider the makeup you were wearing when you met your Valentine or what you know suites best your face features, such as skin tone color, eye shape, eye color.
All this thoughts made me decide to Get the Most of the V-Day, even I didn’t put a single thought into celebrating it, before! Hope you will do the same just to add some memories to your V-Day drawer, if is not all about loveeee!
