Madonna appeared to win the battle of the airwaves on the Oprah Winfrey Show via live video link from London. She said the media had made up negative stories about her
adoption of David Banda from Malawi.I had a video posted here but is no longer available on youtube. My personal opinion after seeing this show:
“I think Madonna should adopt another child from Malawi (who eventual has no parents) if David’s dad changed his mind, even thou the reason might be that he’s “terrorized by the media”, as she said.I’m not saying that is not in the best interest of David to be adopted by Madonna, get an education and a better life, but many parents decide their children’s destiny and this shouldn’t be a challenge for Madonna! I hope she will get the written consent of David’s father, since he left his two weeks old boy and never visited him…
I also agree if she wants to adopt a child from Africa it’s better that this child is from Malawi (because she will bring him back there) although two times a year is not enough to teach little David about poverty. Many of you might think that it’s a utopia that he will help Malawians if will be acculturated in a celebrity lifestyle, but will do it if he’ll be raised to think this way.
I truly believe Madonna will be a wonderful mom to baby David or any other child. World get so much criticism, but as I said, she should go for it, be strong and don’t let the media influence on her amazing giving, donating and changing things!
The bottom line is the Madonna is just another human and as an artist and she wants to make a difference.What matters is the child, and making a difference…”
