Ruslana Korshunova , well known figure in the modeling world, ended her life this Saturday according to CNN. The 20 years-old supermodel, jumped from her ninth-floor apartment in her Water Street building in Manhatan, New York.
According to Police officials, The New York Post, Daily News si Newsday, Ruslana apparently committed an apparent suicidal act. Although there were no signs of a struggle in the apartment, the office is still continuing its investigations. They said that the window from which she fell had a balcony, which had construction netting around it that appeared to have been cut.
Ruslana Korshunova was born in Alma-Ata, Kazakh SSR, and was of Russian descent. The 5-foot-8 head-turner has been featured in ads for DKNY, Vera Wang and Christian Dior among others and was hailed as “the next big thing” in a profile in Vogue three years ago. One of her frends said that Korshunova had just returned from a modeling gig in Paris and seemed to be “on top of the world”…
